Our Vision
What We Believe
At Masontown Brethren Church, everything begins with God’s Word and centers on Jesus Christ. Our beliefs shape how we worship, how we live, and how we love and serve others.
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word. It is our final authority for faith and everyday living.
We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died for our sins, rose again, and will one day return. The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ, lives within believers, and helps us grow in faith.
We believe everyone needs God’s forgiveness because sin separates us from Him. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It’s not something we can earn. It’s something we receive.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. As His followers, we’re called to grow in faith, love one another, and serve those around us. We practice believer’s baptism by immersion as a public expression of faith, not as a requirement for salvation.
We believe God established marriage as a sacred union between one man and one woman. We also believe every human life is precious, created by God, and worthy of protection from conception. We oppose abortion for personal or social reasons while recognizing that life-threatening pregnancies may require medical intervention to protect the mother’s life.
We believe Jesus Christ will return and that eternity is real. Those who trust in Him will enjoy everlasting life with God in heaven, while those who reject Him face eternal separation from God and judgment.
Above all, we want our faith to be more than words on a page. We want it to be seen in the way we follow Jesus, love people, and serve our community.
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Chuck McLaughlin
Pastor Chuck believes that church should feel like family, God’s Word should be understood and lived out, and there’s always room for a little laughter along the way!
Along with his wife, Tammy, Pastor Chuck has served in ministry in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kansas. His heart for ministry is simple: helping people discover Jesus Christ, grow in their relationship with Him, and live out their faith in everyday life.
Pastor Chuck and Tammy are blessed with a wonderful family, and they understand the importance of faith, family, and community.
